This paleo cranberry orange relish is perfectly sweet and tart, requires no cooking, and is ready in less than 5 minutes. Perfect for Thanksgiving dinner!
I know for a lot of people, cranberry relish is a staple around the holidays. I've always sort of despised canned cranberry relish. I know some people enjoy it. For me, I prefer a fresher taste for my cranberry relish.
Enter: paleo cranberry orange relish.
This cranberry orange relish has been a staple in my family at Thanksgiving and Christmas for as long as I can remember. It's bright and citrusy, and you can adjust the sweetness to your liking.
The original recipe calls for refined white sugar. I've made it with both honey and maple syrup, and both turn out great! I like mine a bit tart, but you can taste as you go until you're happy with the flavor.
It's best after sitting in the fridge for a day, after the flavors have had time to blend. It'll keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks thanks to the citric acid.
You can also freeze it for later - I often make a batch at Thanksgiving, and freeze the leftovers until Christmas.
I love simple, flavorful things like this to liven up a meal. Eating healthy doesn't have to be boring!
Other ways to use this relish: try it on a paleo biscuit for breakfast, a salad for lunch, or with a pork chop for dinner. We love to make Thanksgiving leftover salads, and this relish can transform a boring salad topped with turkey into something magical.
Or, just serve it alongside your roasted turkey. If you're looking for other paleo Thanksgiving recipes, try my Paleo Thanksgiving Menu and my Paleo Thanksgiving Recipe Roundup.
