Mail order Whole30 shopping? Yes, please! When you're on Whole30, staying compliant can be a daily challenge. With all the shopping, cooking, and dishes, it can feel like an uphill climb. This Whole30 Amazon shopping list will help keep you on track and keep things simple!
Shopping when you're on Whole30 can get exhausting. It can feel like you're going to the store every other day, and doing 12 loads of dishes a day.
But what about a Whole30 Amazon style? A Whole30 where you didn't have to run to the store for every obscure ingredient, sauce, and topping that you needed for your next meal? The beauty of Amazon is that the things you need show up at your door a day or two later.
Save the gas, save the time, and save your sanity. Here's a list of my top picks for a Whole30 Amazon shopping trip.
Amazon Whole30 Cookbooks
Please hear me when I say: Whole30 is not about the gourmet meals and the cooking. I'll say it again for those of you in the cheap seats: WHOLE30 IS NOT ABOUT THE GOURMET MEALS AND THE COOKING.
You will drive yourself mad if you try to cook fancy, complicated recipes every night, especially if this is your first Whole30. If you're a Whole30 veteran, you've got the basics down, and can step up the recipe game a bit. But for the newbies - hear me when I tell you this is about survival.
There's a lot to learn on your first Whole30. Having recipe ideas that you know are 100% Whole30 compliant is huge. Not having to research if an ingredient can be used, if a blogger got it wrong, or if your sauce is compliant is huge.
Use cookbooks like the ones below to make sure your meals are already Whole30 compliant, with no guesswork involved. When you're tired of cooking, and recipes, steam some vegetables and get a rotisserie chicken from the store. It's ok. You're still doing Whole30, I promise.
Cookbooks like these are geared at people like you, on Whole30. The recipes set you up for success and delicious. Fast and easy, no crumbs left, and good food all sound like things I want on my Whole30, don't you?
Whole30 Amazon Cooking Oils & Fats
Here's the easiest way to think about oils and fats on Whole30 - do you know the source? Can you DEFINE the source? Coconut oil comes from a coconut. Avocado oil comes from an avocado. Pork lard comes from pork.
Where does vegetable oil come from? Canola oil? What is a canola? That's a discussion for a whole other post, but for now, just know they are not healthy and are not compliant when it comes to Whole30.
Below are my top three Amazon Whole30 picks for cooking oils and fats. I've used all of these brands and know they are high quality and Whole30 compliant.
Whole30 Amazon Sauces & Dressings
Ooooooooook, if you know me, you know my mantra: #sauceisking. These are just a few of the sauces and dressings that carry me through on Whole30.
Some of these are easier to buy than to make, in my opinion. If you're handy in the kitchen and want to save some money, you can easily make your own broth, as well as your own homemade mayo. Try my chipotle lime mayo for a little flavor change!
If you're short on time, or just would rather spend your time doing things other than making ketchup and mayonnaise, I get it. Below are my top Amazon Whole30 recommendations for dips, dunks, dressings, and sauces that will make your Whole30 a breeze.
Ok, maybe not a breeze. But certainly tastier.
Whole30 Amazon Nuts & Seeds
I always say you have to be careful with nuts and seeds on Whole30. They can often be cooked in non-compliant oils, which is a bummer to discover. They also pack a pretty big punch of fat and calories. While you're not calorie counting on Whole30, you still need balance.
A small handful of nuts can satiate hunger and keep you fuller for longer periods of time. Just don't eat the whole bag! Below are my favorite Whole30 Amazon nuts and seeds. Try them on a salad or as a snack!
Whole30 Amazon Alternative Flours & Starches
This is one of the most confusing areas when it comes to Whole30, and paleo in general. There are so many different alternative flours and starches out there, how is one supposed to know what's what?
I recommend starting with my Guide to All Purpose Flour Substitutes. It will walk you through what the different alternative flours are and how they can be used.
On Whole30, there's no baking or frying, so the uses for these are somewhat limited. That being said, you'll find them in recipes to thicken sauces and stews and other various uses.
Even if you're not on Whole30, these are my pantry staples, and I love having them all on hand for when I feel like making something on a whim!
Whole 30 Amazon Spices & Seasonings
Sauce is king, but spices and seasonings come in a close second, especially on Whole30. They add a big punch of flavor without the calories or fat that usually come with sauces and dressings.
Below are some Amazon Whole30 friendly seasonings I recommend. You're not limited to these, though - all spices and seasonings are fair game, as long as they don't contain sugar. Read your labels!
Expert hack: Everything But The Bagel seasoning is amazing on both eggs and avocado.
Whole 30 Amazon Dairy Alternatives
Dairy alternatives on Whole30 are one of the hardest things to deal with, in my opinion. That being said, they're also worth it.
There's a whole host of problems associated with dairy that can wreak havoc on your body. Eliminating dairy for 30 days can be a game changing learning experience about you, your body, and what it can tolerate.
Below are the three main things I use from Amazon on Whole30 - coconut milk, coconut cream, and Nutpods creamer. (Nutpods also makes flavored creamers that are compliant as well, depending on your preferences.)
There are LOTS of other dairy substitutes out there that are Whole30 compliant. There are a ton of creamer alternatives that are blended, some are coconut, some are almond. There's tons of brands of almond milks and other nut milks that you can also buy. I purchase all of those refrigerated at the store.
These are the only ones I order online and buy that are not refrigerated.
Whole30 Amazon On-the-Go
Yes, I know that snacks are not recommended or "approved" on Whole30. Here's where I stand on that - if you are on day 27 of a Whole30, and your car breaks down on the side of the road, and the only thing within walking distance is a giant pair of golden arches, you're screwed.
Your Whole30 is not over if you eat a Lara Bar or an RxBar. It is, indeed over, quite anticlimactically, if you eat french fries from a fast food joint.
Keep something in your car, in your bag, in your pocket, so you have a damned snack. These are my top three Whole30 Amazon snack recommendations.
I've created you a PDF of quick links for all of the above items, so you can keep it handy throughout your Whole30! Just jump over to my Resource Library to find it.
You'll find a ton of information, tips and tricks, as well as printable Whole30 shopping lists for Costco, Aldi, and Trader Joe's, too!
